Burmese-American Women's Alliance, California, USA

Burmese American Women's Alliance (BAWA) was organized and incorporated in accordance with the General Nonprofit Corporation Law of the State of California on June 9, 1999 With tax exempt status under Section 510.C.3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Objectives:
The main objective is to provide for welfare services to Burmese women and children in Burma and also to those stranded in the border area. Promote Burmese and American educational and cultural programs to maintain Ethnic cultures and languages. Help members especially new immigrants to adapt to American society quickly and successfully. Promote the welfare of the members and help the elderly, the sick and the temporarily unemployed.
