Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the year-end holiday season approaches, we would like to thank you for your dedication to the Burmese American Democratic Alliance (BADA). Without our grassroots members, supporters and all who are concerned with injustice in Burma, our efforts to support the non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights in Burma, would not be possible.

During the past year, BADA has contributed to advocacy, awareness and material support for Burma by organizing and participating in many actions and activities such as campaigning for the release of all political prisoners in Burma.

We continue to support non-profit organizations both inside and outside Burma by providing small grants for humanitarian assistance and we are the primary supporter of a migrant school at the Thai-Burma border. We dedicated this past year's annual Burma Human Rights Day event to raising funds for the political prisoners in Burma.

In recent months, we have seen some hope of political reform in Burma. However, after five decades of brutal dictatorship, corruption and oppression, Burma is on her knees and the people’s suffering is beyond imagination. The ultimate establishment of a long lasting democracy and civil liberty in Burma remains far from reality. With your help we will continue to stand for justice, human rights, and the development of democracy in Burma.
