Nyunt Than -- Burmese refugee, activist, and President of the Burmese
American Democratic Alliance (BADA) -- will update the current situation
from his sources on the ground in Burma in the wake of the cyclone which
has claimed at least 125,000 (feared up to 200,000) lives and, 2.5
million survivors are in immediate need of food, water and shelter.
However, paranoid by losing the control of the country, Burma's brutal
military regime refuses to accept massive aid delivery to the victims.
BADA's mission is to bring democracy to the people of Burma who are in a
constant struggle with one of the world's most repressive regimes. BADA
organizes and coordinates nonviolent activities to achieve the
establishment of a democratic process in Burma. Amid this massive
devastation in Burma, BADA is stepping up and launching grassroots
Cyclone Relief efforts in the Bay Area to help Burma's cyclone victims.
Come support!!! Bring your ideas and check book!
Free will donations for the victims of the cyclone! 100% goes to Burma's
cyclone victims! Some Burmese food available for purchase..
Money will be sent through internal networks to the people in the
frontline directly helping cyclone victims. Some Burmese food will be
available to purchase.
