To all the peace and freedom loving people of San Francisco Bay Area
Peace for Burma
Protest at India Consulate

Come Protest for peace and freedom in Burma!!!

Hundreds of thousands of peaceful people led by Buddhist Monks cry out for an end to a longstanding military dictatorship.  Holding Sassana flags and reciting prayers of love on the street is a crime in Burma punishable by beating and death.  Monasteries were raided at night, residences vandalized, over 2000 arrested, many monks disrobed, beaten, humiliated, tortured, and killed. The people of Burma have been silenced through military control, but they have not stopped their protest.  Many people are still taking to the streets, but beaten, shot and killed. Come do the protest and meditation to urge India, world largest Democratic Supporter of Burmese brutal dictatorial regime, to step in and help resolve the situation peacefully.

At the protest a
group of South Asians (FOSA, http://friendsofsouthasia.org/burma) will be delivering the following petition to the Indian government regarding its position on Burma this week on Friday, Oct 12, 2-5 pm at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. Please sign if you agree with it and forward to others. We should have at least 100 signatures before sending it to the Prime Minister of India.
